This is a scanned part of the AADHIKAR weekly founding masthead from Monday 19 December 1980. was designed by Muhammad Haque during the weekend of 17-18 December 1980. The ideas contributed towards the design included the one for the prominence given to the Bangladesh symbol Shapla. That idea came from the founding News Editor Shah M Azizul Haque who was deeply concerned about the need for an independent Bangladeshi medium to meet the needs of the community in the UK in 1980. That was 29 years ago this week. How have the Bangladeshis in the UK fared in the 29 years? AADHIKARonline will be running an updater series starting later today, Wednesday 16 December 2009.
